Lemon Zest Explosion Box


Kylie Bertucci, Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in Australia, organizes a monthly International Blog Highlight event. Each month demonstrators are invited to submit an entry under the given theme and upload it to the web before the event goes live. Anyone can vote for their favourite 5 projects. The top 10 are invited to participate in a blog hop.
Last month (January 2018) I missed the “go live” date and decided that I would prepare something for February. When the time came I checked the theme – Get Well Soon – and prepared a project. I was surprised by how many people had already uploaded their entries and was confused as to how to do so as the upload link said it was closed! A bit slow on the uptake, it was a while before I realized that I was looking at February 2017!
But, no worries, my project was complete – and here it is:
If life gives you lemons – chuck them right back! Explosion Box



Finished box – closed – measures: 2.5″ x 2.5″ x 2.5″
Ingredients:Pear Pizzazz Cardstock and Classic Ink Pad
So Saffron Cardstock and Classic Ink Pad
Scraps of Whisper White Cardstock
Chocolate Chip Classic Ink Pad
Lemon Zest Bundle
1 3/4″ circle punch
High Tide Photopolymer Stamp Set
Hold On to Hope Stamp Set
Beautiful You Stamp Set
Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper (DSP)
Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper (DSP)
Neodymium Magnets (10 x 0.5 mm) – from Spider Magnets (optional)
Mini Glue Dots
Fast Fuse
Recipe: (Please contact me if you would like detailed instructions)
Cut Pear Pizzazz Cardstock: 7.5″ x 7.5″ for box, 7 3/8″ x 7 3/8″ for lid
Stamp box Cardstock with whole-lemon stamp and So Saffron ink
Stamp lid with cut-lemon stamp and So Saffron ink
Box:
Score box at 2.5″ and 5″ on one side, rotate 90º, score at 2.5″ and 5″
Cut left score line to 2.5″ on each side
Fold each cut piece on to the centre square of the side
Decorate with DSP as desired and place magnets under the DSP to hold the flap closed
Stamp sentiments in ink that coordinates with the DSP
Punch out with circle punch and adhere to DSP under flap
Punch out several lemons and leaves. Stamp with lemon stamp and So Saffron ink
Stamp “Chuck them right back” on each lemon in Chocolate Chip ink
Cut Pear Pizzazz Cardstock 2″ x 2.75″
Score at 1/4, 3/4, 1 1/4, 1 1/2, 2, 2 1/2
Concertina fold into groove to hold lemons, adhere to centre square, on the diagonal
Lid:
Score each side at 1 1/8, 2 3/8
Cut off the three outer squares on each corner
Assemble as a reinforced lid (contact me for detailed instructions)
Stamp and punch lemon in So Saffron
Stamp “If life gives you lemons..”
Adhere to centre of lid
Fold up sides of box and hold together with lid
